Tell the station a real goal. It breaks it into steps. Real finished work moves you along.
PLAIN ENGLISH~4 MINNO SETUP NEEDED TO READ
01The whole idea
“I want to go freelance by spring.” That’s a goal. The station turns it into a quest.
1
You tell the station a real goal — in your own words, in the COMMANDER dossier.
2
It proposes 3 to 5 milestones and asks in COMMS: “here’s how I’d break this down — good?”
3
You accept a step. That launches a real job. Finishing the job finishes the step.
4
You rate the work. A good verdict mints XP. Levels record what actually shipped.
Nothing here is a to-do list you tick. A milestone completes when the station does the work for it — and the run that did it is written onto the step as evidence.
02Set a goal
From the dossier
Open ☻ CREW › ◈ COMMANDER. Hit ▸ LET THE STATION GET TO KNOW YOU (or REFINE WHAT THE STATION KNOWS) and answer in plain words. Anything you say about what you want becomes a goal belief.
From the quest log
Open the QUEST LOG. With no goal set it shows ▶ SET A GOAL, which takes you to the same place. Once a goal is reached, it offers SET THE NEXT GOAL.
Then wait a beat
The station reads the new goal, drafts a milestone tree, and offers it once in COMMS after your next run. Confirm it, and the tree appears in the QUEST LOG.
// ONE GOAL, WRITTEN LIKE A PERSONThe station decomposes what you actually said. “Get three paying clients for my design work by March” makes a better quest than “grow business”. If a milestone is wrong, edit the belief and the tree is redrawn.

✓done — a real run completed it
◆ YOU ARE HEREthe one open step
RUNNINGthat step is live right now

Under the current step is one button: ▶ ACCEPT THIS STEP. It launches the step as a real job on your crew — the same path any task takes. When that job finishes, the step is marked done and the run’s summary line is stapled to it. There is no manual tick, on purpose.
04How XP is earned
Exactly one thing mints XP: you saying a finished run nailed it.
After any run that did real work, COMMS offers RATE THE WORK with three buttons:
▲ NAILED IT★ +XP
◆ CLOSEnoted — no XP, no penalty
▼ MISSEDnoted — no XP, no penalty
One verdict is worth one fixed amount. It does not scale with how many tools ran or how much was spent — a cheap job you loved is worth the same as an expensive one. On a crew run, every agent that provably did part of the work gets the same verdict.

The other meters on an agent — CONFIDENCE (how satisfied you’ve been lately), RELIABILITY (how often runs complete cleanly), PRACTICE — describe the agent. They mint nothing.
05Levels gate nothing
The STATION level at the top of the screen is every agent’s record rolled up. Its own tooltip says it: a level never unlocks or gates anything. Every tool, model, and permission is available from minute one. Levels are proof of real work you rated well — nothing more, nothing less.
// THE ONE HONEST EXCEPTIONAn agent’s own level decides when it may offer you more autonomy: an initiative offer needs level 3, a permission-grant offer needs level 5. The offer is gated. The capability still needs your tap. Nothing happens because a number went up.
06Questions people actually ask
Can I have more than one goal?
Yes. Each goal belief with a confirmed tree shows in the QUEST LOG. The station offers one tree at a time so you are never asked to confirm five things at once.
What if I forget the goal or change my mind?
Forget the belief in the COMMANDER dossier. The whole tree is retired — kept for history, hidden from the log.
Does goal progress raise the station level?
No. Goals and XP are separate systems. Finishing a milestone marks the step done; only your RATE THE WORK verdict mints XP.
Can I give XP by hand?
No. If you could, the level would stop meaning anything.
