StarNet Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-07-03.
StarNet is a free desktop application that runs AI agents on your own computer. By downloading, installing, or using StarNet, you agree to these terms. They are intentionally short.
Questions: androo.agi@gmail.com.
1. The app is provided "as is"
StarNet is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. This is an early build; it may contain bugs, may lose or corrupt data, and may stop working at any time. You use it at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any damages arising from your use of StarNet — including lost data, lost profits, provider charges you incurred, or actions taken by agents you ran.
2. You pay your own provider costs
StarNet is free. But StarNet uses your own AI provider accounts and API keys (or your own ChatGPT sign-in). You are solely responsible for any charges, rate limits, quota usage, or account consequences those providers apply to you. StarNet does not resell model access, does not add a markup, and has no way to bill you. Set spending caps in your provider account and in StarNet's own budget controls; monitor your usage.
3. You are responsible for what your agents do
StarNet lets AI agents take real actions on your machine and, if you connect them, on external services (messaging channels, web fetches, connected tools). You are responsible for what your agents do — the tasks you give them, the permissions you grant, the tools you enable, and the results. Do not use StarNet to do anything unlawful, to violate the terms of any service you connect it to, or to harm others. You are responsible for complying with the terms of every third-party service and model provider you use through StarNet.
4. Not affiliated with providers
StarNet is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, Google, Discord, Telegram, Spotify, or any other provider or platform it can connect to. All trademarks belong to their respective owners. Your use of any provider through StarNet is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy.
5. Updates and availability
StarNet may update itself through its built-in updater (see the install guide). We may change, suspend, or discontinue the app — or these terms — at any time. There is no guarantee of continued availability or support. Support is best-effort and offered by email only at androo.agi@gmail.com.
6. Privacy
See the privacy page. In short: StarNet runs locally, collects no telemetry, and your data stays on your machine except for the specific provider/channel/update requests described there.
7. License
The StarNet source code is licensed under the MIT License; see the LICENSE file at the repository root. These terms cover use of the app; the MIT License governs the code itself.
