StarNet is free and open source. It stays free with your own API key.

StarNet Credits are an optional managed plan for people who would rather not hunt down keys — one account, one balance, hundreds of models.

HOW CREDITS WORK

  1. STEP 01

    Buy in your browser

Checkout happens on the web, through Stripe. StarNet the app never renders a payment form and never touches your card details.

  2. STEP 02

    Link your station

In the app's STORE, hit LINK STATION. It shows a pairing code like STAR-7F3K; confirm that code on the web and the station is bound to your account.

  3. STEP 03

    Put agents to work

Pick the managed provider on any agent. Each run draws from your balance, and the cost the app shows you is the exact amount your balance moves.

Credits are not open yet. The plans above are the ones that will launch; this page will grow buttons the day the billing service goes live. Until then StarNet is fully usable with your own key — that path is finished, shipped, and free.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Is StarNet itself free?

Yes. The app is MIT-licensed and free to download, run, and modify — today and after credits launch. Credits buy model access, not the software.

Do I need a subscription to use StarNet?

No, and you never will. Bring your own API key or provider sign-in and the whole app works, with no StarNet account at all. Credits exist for people who don't want to manage keys.

What do credits actually buy?

Model runs through StarNet's managed gateway — hundreds of models behind one balance, with no keys of your own. Each run's cost is metered from what the model actually used and subtracted from your balance. The number in the app is the number on your ledger.

What happens when my balance hits zero?

Runs on the managed provider stop with a plain message telling you to add credits. Nothing is silently queued or half-charged, and agents using your own keys keep working normally.

Do my credits expire?

Subscription credits roll over while you're subscribed, capped at twice your monthly grant. If you cancel, the balance you have stays spendable for 90 days. Top-up credits never expire.

Can the app charge me on its own?

No. The app has no payment surface — every purchase is an explicit action you take in your browser. Nothing in the station can start a charge.

Is my work sent to StarNet's servers?

Only if you choose the managed provider — those requests are relayed through our gateway to the model, which is the only way it can work. With your own key nothing goes through us at all, and your projects, files, and station stay on your machine either way. See the privacy policy.

Can I run several stations on one account?

Yes. Link as many as you like with the pairing code; they share one balance, and you can see every linked station from your account page.
